If you default by failing to make mortgage payments then it will likely be 2-3 months or about in January/February that the lender(s) would record a Notice of Default and then about four (4) months later in April/May 2008 before a public sale occurs. Thereafter, it will take another 3-8 weeks to evict you - so about June 2008. During the foregoing timeframe, you could be solidifying new business activities and saving money to apply toward rent or whatever. The foregoing timeframe would extend by several weeks IF you choose to file for protection from creditors.
